Happy Life
Problems can bring us down but feathers/wings can help us fly. Even the smallest ones can burden us. Many people have regrets or things they wish they could change about themselves or their lives. This causes frustrations that hold them down and keep them from flying high. God will help us fly high.
Isaiah 40:31
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
If your hope is in God, you can soar high. Regardless of how heavy the burdens are in your life, we have a God who can lift them for us. Jesus is our burden lifter.
Matthew 11:28-30 28
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Burdens / problems bring us down.
Hebrews 12:1-3
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
The great cloud of witnesses mentioned in Hebrews 11 are those who have finished the race marked out for them by God.
What are we living for? Is it for your family, is it for some dream of yours? Are we living for God? If your primary goal is to live for God, you will be able to push down the priorities of some other things in your life. We can wave off our problems when we live for God. You can throw off things that hinder you and the sin that entangles you. Sin / addictions etc is something that acts as a tie around your legs that keeps you from running your race well. This is why many are not able to progress in life.
Jesus has offered to carry our burdens for us and sometimes to carry us also and give us rest in return. He gives us his burden instead, which is easy and light. When we give our burdens to Jesus who is our burden lifter, our burdens are lifted, and we can be free.
Paul encourages us to run our race by fixing our eyes on Jesus, the Captain of our faith. Jesus ran His race looking at the joy of our salvation and then He endured the cross. Those who run the race today, will be awarded a crown in heaven tomorrow. We have a celebration waiting for us! If we can carry the cross on our shoulders today, Jesus will give us a crown on our heads tomorrow. If we believe it, we will see it happen.
Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
What an exchange! What a decision ! Now we have no ambitions/ dreams of our own. I have given it over to Christ. He is alive in me. His dreams, His visions in me ! He gave Himself to me and I gave myself to Him. This mutual commitment and dedication to one another is Christian life.
We just need one touch from Jesus to change our lives. How many of us want to walk into this life? How many of us want to love for the one who died for us?
