The Wind Of Hope

Ezekiel 37:1 talks about the valley of dry bones. The prophet speaks about his vision where the bones are lifeless and dry. God asked Ezekiel to prophesy to the dry bones. 
If we were in place of Ezekiel would we prophesy to these bones?

Ezekiel 37:1-2
‘The hand of the Lord was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry.’

Ezekiel 37:4
‘Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them,’

Ezekiel obeyed God and he heard a rattling sound. He saw one bone attaching itself to the next.

Ezekiel 37:7-8
‘So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.’

From the state of dry bones scattered around,  now the bones connected together to become a skeleton. Tendons and flesh joined the skeletal structure. And it was covered with skin and…… became a lifeless body. 

Ezekiel 37:9-10
‘Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’” So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army.’

What God actually did here was - He reversed the process of death followed by decay back to life. The bodies did not just come alive but they rose up to be a vast army. 

Ezekiel 37:11-14
'Then he said to me: “Son of man, these bones are the people of Israel. They say, ‘Our bones are dried up and our hope is gone; we are cut off.’ Therefore prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: My people, I am going to open your graves and bring you up from them; I will bring you back to the land of Israel. Then you, my people, will know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves and bring you up from them. I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the Lord have spoken, and I have done it, declares the Lord.’”

In those days the people of Israel were in a state of devastation. Their situation was like that of dry bones. They were held captives in a foreign land. 
Today many of us are in such trying situations. We may be drowning in our troubles. But there is something that we need to realise, our God is able to bring the dead to life. 
Ezekiel saw the prophecy over the Israelites in his vision; he saw the Israelites rising up and taking their place.

You might be at a point where there is no hope left. Or where nothing is possible, and there is no one to help you. Believe that God will change your situation. His word is final. He writes your story. We need to have the longing to feel the presence of God. 

Lets go to another scripture portion in the Bible - Acts 2:1-4  
‘’When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.  Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.’

The 120 followers were all gathered at a place with doors and windows shut because they were afraid of the people. But suddenly a violent wind came in from heaven and filled each one of them. Once the wind of the Holy Spirit blew over them, they were no longer afraid. They became bold and rose up to be strong and powerful men and women of God. 

2 Timothy 1:7
‘For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.’

Let’s look at the testimony of Chinju from Kollam. Back in 2010 she was going through a very difficult time as she had recently lost her job and was living separated from her husband. Chinju was facing severe skin problems, because of her stress and anxiety, the skin of her feet would often break out in rashes. Her feet would be covered in sores.
On August 15, 2022, while she was watching the live service of the Prayer Day at the Blessing Centre, Sis. Kshama called out Chinju’s name during the prayer and said that God was going to change her life. For around 12 years, she had been taking treatment and medication for her skin problem and added to that, her kidneys were failing. She needed dialysis. Chinju was in a completely broken state. 

But when she heard her name being called out, she knew her life was going to be transformed. The very next Sunday she attended in person at  Kollam Blessing Centre. She kept attending the service at church and within two months Chinju and her two daughters took baptism. Hallelujah!

Within a few days of taking water baptism, Chinju claims that she went to the doctor for checkup and the results were astonishing - her kidneys were in perfect condition. 
And in addition, her feet were completely healed of all the rashes. 

Chinju witnessed miracle after miracle in her life. Few months later Chinju and her daughters attended the Deep Healing Retreat at the Blessing Centre. On the final day of the retreat, she returned home with her daughters. As soon as she reached home she received a call from her husband who had been separated from her for the past 5 years. Hallelujah!!!

Summary
Your situation does not define you. God writes your story. No matter how dry your situation may be, God can raise an army out of the dry bones. We serve a mighty God. Nothing is difficult for Him. Amen!
