Lifetime Care
Psalm 37:25 says, ‘I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.”
This is the testimony of the Psalmist. He had never seen God ever forsaking His children who walk righteously. If we do not receive blessings from God it is because of something we have done which was not right.
Once you turn your life to God, the darkness or veil in your life will disappear and be replaced by his light. ( 2 Corinthians 3. 14-16)
2 Corinthians 3:16
But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
God will remove the old tags and nicknames that weighed you down before you met Christ. Just like God changed the names of Sarah, Abraham, Peter, and many more, he will change your past identity or the labels you carried within yourself before Christ.
When the Blessing Today daily program began - the first 50 episodes focused on the deep love of God. One of the viewers felt this series had a potential to be written as a novel, by introducing various characters. We developed this series into a story and wrote this from the perspective of the character - Tara. Her life saw misery after misery, where her brother dies followed by the death of her father. To Tara, God seems to be a distant presence where misery resides within her home. Such instances are so common in the world around us, with gun shootings, bombings, natural disasters and accidents, plaguing the life of many. This is how the story of Tara begins. However, as the novel progresses, Christ enters her life through certain people around her. She always has a burgeoning question in her mind - where is God? When I lost my loved ones, where was God? However, God entered her life through several people. They helped her understand that God did not allow diseases to enter her home or misery to enter her home. It is Satan that does it. Satan comes to rob us of our joy and God does not allow pain to enter our lives. And we often, due to our human failings, blame God for all that happens in our lives.
A young man once bought this book and took it with him when he left the country for work. However, due to an unfortunate turn of events, he was not able to secure a job and spent his time secluded in his room. While he spent his time searching for a job, alone this book helped him. Reading this book gave him hope and God soon opened a way for him.
There are several people among us living a life filled with questions and unrest. But just like Tara, Jesus can help you. He can bring you out of any situation.
David was a man after God’s own heart even though he was rejected by his family and parents as a child. It was God who had brought him out of his rejected childhood and anointed him to be King.
He observed that Psalm 37:3-7 says, ‘Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun. Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.’
As you read through this Psalm, you realize that David is sharing his experiences and observations with us. God showed David that even when he was wrong or made mistakes, He would help him come out of it. Which is why in verse 25, David says, ‘I have been young, and now am old’.
Ecclesiastes 12:1 says Remember your Creator in the days of your youth,
Remember your creator in the youth and trust that God will take care of you and never forsake you.
