79. Root of David

Revelation 22:16

“Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.

I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.”

Here it’s clearly mentioned Jesus is the Root of David. Why is he compared to

the root? The root system is the one that supports or bears the entire tree or plant as a whole.

Jesus is the root of David as he is seen as the root of the Davidian family. If we study Jesus’s genealogy, Jesus  is the descendant of David. He was the son of David. Jesus  is the offspring of David at the same time he is the root of David too.

If Jesus is the root of David then he is also the root of each of us.

If Jesus is the root of David’s family he is also the root of our family. Jesus can hold you and bear your entire family. Root is the part of the plant or tree that functions to absorb water and all the nourishment  required for the growth of the plant. It supplies everything .

Jesus is our ROOT. He can provide all our needs and requirements needed in our  lives.

80. Ruler of God’s creation.

Revelation 3:14

‘To the angel of the church in Laodicea write. These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation.’

In some versions  this can be translated also as the beginning of God’s creation. He is ruling all God’s creation.

81. Saviour

Luke 2:11

“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”

Here the angels are announcing today that in the town of Bethlehem  a saviour is born. This was the greatest glad news to know a saviour for the world is born.

If we look into the conversation between Jesus and the Samaritan lady at the Jacob’s well. The Samaritan lady got revelation that he is the Messiah. She ran to the town and told all that she met the Messiah they all were waiting for. Even Samaritans like the Jews were waiting for the Messiah. All followed the lady to meet with the Messiah near Jacob’s well. Jesus spoke with them and all were  convinced  he was the real savior. The entire crowd did not need the Samaritan woman to testify as they saw him with their own eyes and heard  Jesus with their  own ears.

82. Seed of Woman.

Genesis 3:15

‘And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.’

This is the first promise of the saviour that he will be the seed of woman. The vessel into which Jesus will come into this world is through a woman. Why is a woman chosen? It is through a woman that sin happened  and satan entered the world so the son of God will also be coming to save us from sin through a woman.

83. Son of Abraham

Mathew 1:1

‘This is the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah the son of David, the son of Abraham’

Mathew  the evangelist starts the gospel with Jesus’s genealogy and he says Jesus is the son of Abraham.

Mathew 1:1

‘This is the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah the son of David, the son of Abraham’

Jesus’ genealogy also says he is the son of David too.

Mark 6:3

‘Isn’t this the carpenter? Isn’t this Mary’s son and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas and Simon?Aren’t his sisters here with us?” And they took offense at him

Here people are wandering as the son of the  carpenter and son of Mary.’

86. Son of  Joseph

 John 1:45

‘Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law,and about whom the prophets also wrote Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.’

Here Philip found Nathaniel and introduced  Jesus as the one who Moses wrote about. Jesus of Nazareth as Son of Joseph.

87. Son of Man

Luke 19:9-10

Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.’

Jesus comes to the house of Zacchaeus and says the Son of Man has come to seek and save the lost. This is the mission statement of Jesus. Jesus most often introduced himself as being the Son of Man to save mankind.

88.Son of God

Mark 1:1

‘The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God.’

Jesus is introduced by Mark the gospel writer as the Son of God.

89.Son of the Living God

Mathew 16:16

‘Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.’

This is the revelation Peter received from the heavenly  Father when he asked who Jesus was?Jesus said the Father in heaven has revealed this to you

90.Son of Most High

‘He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end’
