Moses’ ministry had longevity and his life was so meaningful.
Moses’ story was very connected and has its connection both in the Old Testament and New Testament.
Same was the case with Joseph!
There are a lot of things to observe and learn from the story of Moses.
Moses sent 12 people and so did Jesus.
16 These are the names of the men Moses sent to explore the land. Moses gave Hoshea son of Nun the name Joshua.
In Matthew the names of the 12 people that Jesus choose are mentioned.
24 So Moses went out and told the people what the Lord had said. He brought together seventy of their elders and had them stand around the tent
Jesus Sends Out the Seventy-Two
10 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go.
Look at the similarities here.
The programming of God is done so beautifully!
We are in the hands of the God who created stories of such great people in the Bible.
There is nothing that we should be worried about.
If we look back at our lives and compare it now we will be astonished to see the goodness of God!
God said the plans he has for us is of hope.
The devil sometimes does not allow us to see what God does for us.
In the Bible it says that Christ is our wisdom.
Wisdom can be imparted.
There is a spirit of wisdom, one of the seven spirits.
22 Moses was educated in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and was powerful in speech and action.
54 And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?
We all need strength to live in this world.
Not physical strength but spiritual strength!
In Moses’ case there was no way to go out but he had the power of God, so when there was no way he made a way.
5 So Moses brought their case before the Lord,6 and the Lord said to him, 7 “What Zelophehad’s daughters are saying is right. You must certainly give them property as an inheritance among their father’s relatives and give their father’s inheritance to them.
The same is written in Hebrews as well.
A lot of people read the Bible just for the sake of reading something.
At the end of the day they do not put their trust In God.
•Intimacy with God.
God knew Moses face to face, there was none like him that Israel knew.
John also says the same about Jesus, they both had a special Intimacy with God.
•Knowledge of the ways of God.
God told Moses about the plans and ways of his.
20 For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these, so that you will be amazed.
God told Moses the entire plan and direction!
The people with them were only a part of the breakthrough.
But Moses was the leader.
The same way Jesus knows the entire plan of God the father!
This is also said in both the Old Testament and New Testament.
When the followers don’t listen to their leaders, it causes the leaders a lot of frustration.
That happened to Moses and Jesus.
Moses became the mouthpiece of God, he was used to deliver messages for God.
These similarities between Jesus and Old Testament characters are breathtaking isn’t it?
