9 Even though we speak like this, dear friends,we are convinced of better things in your case—the things that have to do with salvation.
10 God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.
11 We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized. 12 We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.
We are looking into these verses and from these we can assimilate 9 important points that are being conveyed. The previous portion of the sixth chapter was on moving beyond the infant stage of spiritual maturity and growing. Then it was a great warning if believers backslide and the consequences if one leaves Jesus after being saved. This portion of Chapter 6 is a encouragement and indeed shows the quality of the author as a great mentor and coach with a father’s heart as both strict warnings together with great comfort are conveyed.
1.We are confident that we will do better things concerning you. There are good things that are intended to be shared to people who are saved and harsh things if we fall away
2.Great things accompany salvation; people who are saved will get good rewards; amazing things that are too great to even comprehend. Beyond what all eyes can see ,ears can hear that is how great a reward God has planned for his children.
He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
3.God is never unjust
God never forgets the work that you do in his name and your labour of love for him. A person is never saved because of the good deeds he does but after one is saved he should make sure he does only good deeds. Do whatever you can for God’s kingdom.
Always help believers as in this it says believers minister to other believers.
4.Go till the end with the same diligence.
The spiritual graph of ours when plotted should never waver but should be a steady growth till the end.
5.Full assurance of hope till the end.
The reward will be to the one who finishes well in the finish line.
6.Do not be sluggish.
Never be lazy but always be energetic with full armour to the very end. If you feel sedentary and lack energy, dust off and move forward.
7.Get encouraged to never lose the zeal for God.
1 Samuel 30:6
David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God.
8.Imitate those who through faith and patience inherited the promises. Here it is referring to Abraham .
9.Faith and Patience are two keys to possessing God’s promises.
Never stop, always march ahead fast, push yourself forward to reach the kingdom of God.
