More Than Conquerors
Romans 8:37
‘No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.’
Romans 8:31
‘What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?’
In the different phases of our life we may face troubles from many people - neighbours, relatives, friends etc. But Paul reminds us that if God is on our side then we need not fear anything. No one can go against us.
Paul, who was once Saul, is encouraging us! Saul went on harming the people of God. That was his life’s aim. But one encounter with God changed him forever.
God can make apostles out of terrorists. Hallelujah!
Romans 8:32-33
‘He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies.’’
God chose us. We did not choose him. He loved us before we even knew him.
John 15:16
‘You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.’
Understand this, God chose you. You are loved and wanted by the Father.
Romans 8:34
‘Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.’
Proclaim this out loud : You are loved and wanted by God. Jesus needs me.
There are many who come crying to pastors saying that they have no one, no one loves them or wants them.
But that is not true. You need to believe that Jesus needs you and is always there for you. Isn’t Jesus more than enough?
Romans 8:35
‘Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?’
Romans 8:36-37
As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.’
Whatever your situation is, are you in debt? Are people going to take everything from you? Do not worry, Jesus is looking out for you and he will not let any harm overtake you.
Romans 8:38-39
‘For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.’
What makes you different from others during tough situations? Unlike the worldly people who panic and fear during tough times, you believe that you are the child of God and hold on to him. You put your trust and hope in the Saviour. That is your victory.
Summary
You are a child of God. Believe this and hold on to it. Paul reminds us that even in our most difficult situations no matter what our circumstances are, if God is for us then no one can stand against us. That is our victory!
